Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline posts 46 complaints, 1 recall, 1 investigation, and 20 TSBs, representing a sharp improvement over the immediately preceding model years (2023: 121/5/2/64 and 2022: 111/3/2/71) and a dramatic retreat from the second-generation peak recorded in 2017 (333 complaints, 5 investigations, 163 TSBs). Across the broader generation arc, complaint and TSB volumes had trended downward from the 2017–2019 high-water marks, but 2024 stands out as the cleanest year in the modern Ridgeline record on every metric tracked, with recall and investigation activity falling to single digits. The complaint mix in 2024 is concentrated in low-severity categories—Exterior Lighting (11), Electrical System (4), Unknown or Other (3), and Back Over Prevention (3)—with zero crash or fire complaints reported, suggesting no systemic safety defect has emerged in this vintage. The lone recall and single investigation indicate that any manufacturer or NHTSA scrutiny was limited rather than a class-wide concern. Taken together, the 2024 model year sits at the favorable end of the second-generation trend line, and it represents a sound target for a used Ridgeline purchase, though a pre-purchase recall and TSB check is still advisable.
