Step 5: Use a long pry bar and jack stand for stability and leverage to pry in an upward motion on the flat part of the steering knuckle close to the ball joint stud and nut. Step 6: Observe readings on dial indicator. Step 7: Combine the 2 dial indicator readings. Step 8: Replace lower ball joint if the 2 dial indicator readings exceed listed specifications.
