Prep Measure the diameter of each cylinder head bolt at point A and point B. Point A = 12.00 mm from thread end and point B = 55.00 mm from thread end. If either diameter is less than 0.23 mm use new bolts coated with clean engine oil. Tighten all bolts to finger tight then continue on with the following procedure.

Factory maintenance schedule OEM · verified

Normal service, condensed from the factory interval matrix.

Under the factory schedule, replace the engine oil and filter every 5,000 mi; spark plugs at 105,000 mi; coolant at 105,000 mi. The big-interval services (at 105,000 mi for coolant, and the transmission fluid) are the ones owners most often skip — on a lower-mileage example, assume the original fluids are still in it and check them first.

Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

In 2015 the 2015 Nissan Rogue _Select received 519 complaints, slightly higher than the 422 complaints logged in 2014, yet the number of recalls decreased from 10 to 9, indicating a modest improvement in regulatory compliance. The complaint profile shows a pronounced focus on the Power Train (94 complaints) followed by Unknown Or Other (76) and Air Bags (69), with Electrical System complaints at 34, highlighting a trend toward mechanical and safety‑system concerns rather than software or design flaws. Crash‑related complaints stood at 29 and fire‑related complaints at 7, both lower than the combined 2014 totals, suggesting a slight decline in severe incident reports. Compared to the preceding year, 2015’s overall complaint volume rose but recall activity fell, placing it near the apex of the complaint trend for this generation and implying that while some issues persist, regulatory attention has lessened. Consequently, a 2015 model may still present higher maintenance risks than 2014, but the lower recall count and reduced severe incident complaints make it a cautiously more attractive purchase than earlier models.
