1975 Ford F

Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1975 F.

The 1975 Ford F-150 is a light-duty pickup built on Ford's 150 platform/chassis, positioning it as a core work-truck entry in the F-Series lineup for the period. Owner feedback is remarkably sparse for this model year, with just a single recorded complaint centered on steering, though the vehicle also carries four recalls that warrant attention in any reliability assessment. Taken together, the 1975 F-150 sits as a low-complaint but recall-active point in the model's history, suggesting a generally clean owner-reported record while reminding researchers to verify recall service status when evaluating long-term dependability.

Reliability & federal safety record

Owner-reported issues, recalls, investigations and service bulletins on record with NHTSA — an unfiltered look at what owners actually experience.

Owner complaints about the 1975 Ford F dominate in one area — the steering, 1 of 1 reports (100%), well ahead of the next concern. None of this vehicle's 4 recall campaigns target the steering, so those reports read as owner-reported wear-and-tear rather than an acknowledged defect. 0 of the reports describe a crash and 0 a fire — a small share of the total, but worth weighing against the steering pattern above. These are tallies of what owners actually reported to the federal government, not an editorial score — and higher-selling models naturally rack up more reports.
