Factory specifications, fluid capacities, torque values, EPA fuel economy and the federal safety record for the 1982 Seville.
The 1982 Cadillac Seville anchors the early end of a model line whose owner-reported complaint history, documented between 1990 and 2004, shows a wide spread in reliability perception across its production run. Within that tracking window, complaints peaked at 131 in the 1996 model year and bottomed out at just 17 by 2004, the lowest figure in the recorded range. For a researcher, the 1982 model year represents the pre-dataset baseline, situating it as the historical starting point against which that downward trend in owner-reported issues can be measured across the subsequent two decades.

THE FUEL FILTERS WERE PRODUCED WITH AN INCORRECT THREADED FITTING. THE INCORRECT FITTING IS SIMILIAR ENOUGH IN SIZE THAT THE FUEL FILTER MAY APPEAR TO BE CORRECTLY THREADED ONTO THE FUEL LINE. Remedy: THE IMPROPER THREADING COULD CAUSE A GASOLINE LEAK WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE WHEN EXPOSED TO A SOURCE OF IGNITION.
SOME OF THE INVOLVED VEHICLES CONTAIN INCORRECT ACCELERATOR CABLE BRACKETS. THIS COULD ALLOW THE CRUISE CONTROL SERVO ROD TO BIND ON THE ACCELERATOR CABLE BRACKET. Remedy: DEALER WILL INSTALL THE CORRECT CABLE BRACKET WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER. VEHICLES WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL WILL ALSO BE MODIFIED IN THE EVENT THAT CRUISE CONTROL IS LATER ADDED.
