5. Failed component on a shared rail (e.g., other coil on same driver or module)

On systems where one driver controls multiple coils, a short or open in a neighboring coil's circuit can back-feed and cause a high reading on coil L's line.

6. PCM/ECM internal driver failure

Rare. The PCM's output driver for that specific coil can fail open, but this is only plausible after wiring, connectors, the coil itself, and grounds have all been verified good.
